The Andreas van Zoelen collection
The sarrusophone family was created by Gautrot, at the request of bandmaster Sarrus. They are played with a double reed, like the bassoon. This instrument family was part of the debate surrounding the saxophone, contesting its legitimacy as a newly invented instrument.
