The Andreas van Zoelen collection
The New Langwill Index reads:
“…by 1911 the firm was making every kind of musical instrument, employing a workforce of 1000 at eight factories, the then largest single musical instrument manufacturer in the world… 1925 claimed to have made over two million musical instruments at their six factories; however by their 1927, when the firm celebrated its centenary, the workforce had dwindled to 200… Among their ‘predecesseurs et maisons réunies’ were the wind instrument-making firms of Association Générale des Ouvriers, Feuillet, Gautrot aîné, Guichard, Lecomte, I. Lot, Massin & Thibouville, Triébert, Tulou and others.
In that sense, Couesnon can be seen as the link between 19th century instruments, and the 20th century.

I’ve spent years collecting, researching, and preserving saxophones, each with its own unique story. My goal with this website is to make this knowledge publicly available to saxophone lovers and researchers alike. I hope you find as much joy in this collection as I have in creating it.
