The Andreas van Zoelen collection
The oldest saxophone in my collection (1856). First generation alto, note the significant big bell that Adolphe Sax used in this first generation.
I found this instrument in 2023, while in England for concerts with the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet.
The first number punched in the inside of the bell indicates that this saxophone was purchased by the military in 1857.
Also note the original mouthpiece case that Adolphe Sax offered, in the last picture indeed holding an original Sax alto mouthpiece from my collection.

I’ve spent years collecting, researching, and preserving saxophones, each with its own unique story. My goal with this website is to make this knowledge publicly available to saxophone lovers and researchers alike. I hope you find as much joy in this collection as I have in creating it.
