The Andreas van Zoelen collection
This instrument is very interesting in regards to the topic of stencils.
It bears two little Feuillet stamps, apart from the stamp that identifies these instruments as Adolphe Sax stencils.
The New Langwill Index read:
“Before 1867 working for (2) A. Sax; 1867 established; 1870 advertised as saxophone specialist; 1885 sold out to Association Generale des Ouvriers.”
and under Thibouville-Lamy:
“…regarding saxophone, ‘we can, according to the wishes of our customers, mark the instruments with our name or one of our registered marks, or even with one of the following names, of which we are the proprietors: ‘Association Generale des Ouvriers 68bis rue Reamer [sic] Paris, Feuillet, Martin Thibouville Fils, Bercioux’.” 398
*) the construction year of this instrument is an estimate

I’ve spent years collecting, researching, and preserving saxophones, each with its own unique story. My goal with this website is to make this knowledge publicly available to saxophone lovers and researchers alike. I hope you find as much joy in this collection as I have in creating it.
